G a b o n : Addax Petroleum Acquires
Additional Interest in Shallow
Water Exploration License

Addax Petroleum Corporation (TSX: AXC and LSE:
AXC) (“Addax Petroleum” or the “Corporation”)
announces today that it has, subject to partial partner
pre-emption rights, acquired an additional 18
per cent working interest in the Iris Marin license
area offshore Gabon by the acquisition of a subsidiary
of Sterling Energy plc (“Sterling”). Addax Petroleum
will hold up to a 51.33 per cent working interest in the
Iris Marin license area and, subject to Government
approval, intends to become the operator.

Eni and the Republic of Congo launch a new integrated model of cooperation Eni, which in the four-year period from 2008-2011, will invest 3 billion dollars in Congo, generating an expected equity production of 150 million boe. Eni has developed its operations in the country thanks to close collaboration with the Congolese authorities. This close relationship has resulted in the new agreements signed today.

CÔTE D’IVOIRE
Cegelec a remporté un contrat de 55 M€ pour l’extension de la centrale de VRIDI en Côte d’Ivoire.
Cegelec a remporté en mai dernier le contrat-clés en main CIPREL III de conception, construction, et mise en service de l’extension de la centrale de VRIDI 2, à Abidjan en Côte d’Ivoire.
Ce projet de près de 55 M€ sera réalisé par les équipes Energy de Nanterre et Charleroi.
